Hormonal Imbalance

In our body, there are many hormones, and here’s a list of some of them:
1. Growth Hormone: Helps increase height.
2. Thyroid Hormones (T3, T4, etc.): Maintain metabolism.
3. Insulin: Maintains blood sugar levels.
4. Testosterone: Male sex hormone.
5. Estrogen: Female sex hormone.
6. Adrenaline: Emergency and excitement hormone.
It’s crucial to have a balanced level of these hormones. Any increase or decrease can lead to diseases. In today’s times, hormonal imbalance cases have increased significantly due to various factors.
To maintain the balance of each hormone, Ayurveda offers various medicines and therapies. However, it’s essential to first avoid the factors causing the imbalance. Stopping these causative factors is half the treatment.
Causes of Hormonal Imbalance –
- Pollution
- Stress
- Changes in food habits (like fast food)
- Irregular sleep and diet cycles
- Excessive use of medicines such as steroids
- Lack of exercise.
- vibrations from electronic devices (like cellphones)
- unresolved emotions in the mind
Concept of hormones in Ayurveda.
Ayurveda doesn’t directly mention hormones. Instead, it suggests that if there’s no description of a health condition, it should be examined using Ayurvedic diagnostic tools. This helps identify the exact pathogenesis occurring in the body with the current dosha level, making treatments more effective.
Hormones and the mind are interconnected. For instance, happiness increases dopamine. A healthy mind is crucial for hormonal balance. Hormonal imbalances often go undiagnosed in the early stages and are more commonly found in chronic stages.
The body and mind are intertwined. Any impact on the mind affects the body and vice versa. A healthy body means a healthy mind. The mind absorbs vibrations from the surroundings, shaping human thoughts. About 70% of irrational thinking comes from our surroundings, leading to emotions that cause changes in the physical body through hormones.
In recent times, cases of hormonal imbalance have surged. The main reasons are vibrations from electronic devices (like cellphones) and unresolved emotions in the mind. Cellphone addiction is a common cause, as electronic vibrations impact the mind. Another reason is unresolved emotions. Nowadays, people often share their emotions on social media, but the real sharing has reduced. This digital sharing doesn’t convey actual feelings, storing emotions in the mind, leading to various disorders, including hormonal imbalance.
