C. Process Behind Kidney Stone Formation 

 The process of kidney stone formation in Ayurveda involves several stages:
 
  1. Frequent intake of causative factors: Regular consumption of substances that contribute to kidney stone formation.
  2. Disturb natural digestion: Disruption in the natural digestive process.
  3. Salt level increases: Elevated levels of salts in the body.
  4. Kapha dosha dilutes more and more: Progressive dilution of the Kapha dosha, one of the three Ayurvedic doshas.
  5. Disturbs other two dosha – Vaat and Pitta: Imbalance and disturbance of the other two doshas, Vaat and Pitta.
  6. Kapha dosha with Vaat and Pitta comes in kidneys through blood: Migration of imbalanced doshas (Kapha, Vaat, and Pitta) to the kidneys through the bloodstream.
  7. Vaat dosha starts to reduce lubrication in kidneys: Vaat dosha, associated with air and space elements, reduces lubrication in the kidneys.
  8. Kapha dosha becomes sticky and starts to accumulate in the kidney: The sticky nature of imbalanced Kapha dosha leads to its accumulation in the kidneys.
  9. Frequent intake of causative factors makes more and more sticky Kapha: Continuous consumption of contributing factors results in the increased stickiness of Kapha.
  10. Salts start to accumulate around sticky Kapha: Accumulation of salts around the sticky Kapha in the kidneys.
  11. Gradually size increases: The gradual growth in size of the accumulating substances.
  12. Starts to irritate: As the size increases, irritation to the surrounding tissues leads to pain.
  13. Kidney Stones: The culmination of these processes results in the formation of kidney stones.

Dietary Recommendations

Ayurvedic dietary guidelines for kidney stones focus on maintaining a balance in the body’s doshas (Vaat, Pitta, and Kapha) and preventing the accumulation of substances that contribute to stone formation. Here are some dietary recommendations:
